Native American Language Resource Center

Welcome! The Native American Language Resource Center (NALRC) was developed in response to the Native American Language Resource Center Act of 2022 (S.989), which states its purposes as “to further policies set forth in the Native American Languages Act” (25 U.S.C. 2091 et seq.).

The NALRC is influenced by the historical and present-day advocacy of Indigenous scholars, practitioners and communities from across the United States and its territories. This comprehensive virtual hub offers pathways to a wide array of Hawaiian, American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) language services and products. Here, you will find guidance, resources and best practices for early childhood providers, K-12 schools, institutions of higher education, Tribal agencies, and their authorizing agencies. Resource Center materials include research, curricula and instructional strategies designed for language teachers and learners, researchers, Tribal leaders, and language program leaders. These resources are intended to celebrate and support the instruction of Native languages. As part of this work, the Resource Center encourages practitioners and communities to submit materials for our library using the Resource Submission Form.
