Equitable Services *completed September 2018 – October 2018 The purpose of this P2P exchange was to provide states with a venue to discuss and share problems of practice related to the equitable services requirements of ESSA. The intended outcome of this series was to increase participating states’ knowledge of how other states are meeting basic equitable services requirements and to identify promising practices, innovative solutions, and tools. ESSA Implementation *completed August 2018 – October 2018 The purpose of this P2P exchange was to support a group of states in addressing problems of practice related to six priority areas of ESSA implementation, including: LEA Monitoring, Evidence-Based Practices, and Support for Rural Districts and Schools. The intended outcome of this series was for participating states to understand key ESSA requirements across priority areas as well as to share and identify promising practices, innovative solutions, and tools that support ESSA implementation. Foster Care *completed July 2018 – August 2018 The purpose of this P2P exchange was to provide an opportunity for states to address four priority areas around Title I, Part A, the educational stability of children in foster care provisions of ESSA. The intended outcome of this series was for participating states to understand key ESSA requirements across priority areas as well as to share and identify promising practices, innovative solutions, and tools that support implementation of the ESSA foster care provisions. Equity Labs September 2017 – January 2018 The purpose of this P2P exchange is to support states that are interested in designing and implementing educator equity labs as a strategy to support LEAs in developing local educator equity plans. The intended outcome of this series is that each participating state will use the materials and plans that they develop over the course of this series to conduct an equity lab within the next 6-12 months following the conclusion of the series. ESSA Long-Term Goal Setting *completed April 2017 – July 2017 The purpose of this P2P exchange was to provide states a venue for sharing ideas with one another, engaging with experts, and getting feedback on their current proposed long-term goals in their ESSA state consolidated plans. The intended outcomes for this series included participating states showing stronger alignment between their long-term goals and their accountability systems as well as states providing clear rationales for determining their long-term goals in their ESSA plans. California Rural District Collaborative *completed February 2017 –May 2017 The purpose of this P2P exchange was to support a group of rural California districts to address a common problem of practice related to mathematics interventions and developing growth mindsets in mathematics students. Outcomes for this series included districts finalizing their vision and goal statements, developing their project plans, and preparing for specific next steps to address the problem of practice. Needs Assessment *completed November 2016 – February 2017 The purpose of this P2P exchange was to provide states an opportunity to collaborate around the development of a single, comprehensive needs assessment tool and process that could be used in their state and/or shared with other states. The outcomes of this series included revised needs assessment tools developed by Georgia, Delaware, and Arizona that are being either being implemented or piloted in advance of the 2017-18 school year. “Top 10 State” Strategic Goal *completed March 2017 The purpose of this P2P exchange was to connect representatives from Michigan and Missouri with the Great Lakes Comprehensive Center and the Central Comprehensive Center in a discussion on their strategic goals to be “Top 10 States.” The outcomes of this session included each state learning strategies for effective marketing and communication of their plans as well as appropriate metrics to monitor progress and success of their plans.
