State Report Card

The purpose for this community of practice (CoP) is to increase states’ capacity to develop, implement, and continually improve their report cards on K-12 public education while meeting the requirements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA). The goal of CoP activities is to increase states’ capacity to

    1. Advance outcomes for students by using state report cards as a tool to improve performance at the state, district, and school levels;
    2. Identify, define, and incorporate new required data elements while meeting the highest standards of data quality; and
    3. Communicate complex data to various external and internal stakeholders.
