School Quality and Student Success (SQSS) Indicators Community Summary

This purpose for this community of practice (CoP) is to increase states’ capacity to implement indicators of school quality or student success (SQSS) under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA), and scale effective practices within and across state and local education agencies that are likely to elevate student outcomes and help states achieve their long-term education goals. The goal of CoP activities is to increase states’ capacity to

  1. identify opportunities and challenges in implementing their SQSS indicators;
  2. identify strategies for using SQSS indicator data in a meaningful way to improve outcomes for students; and,
  3. determine effective ways to embed these strategies into their accountability, reporting, and school improvement systems.
