Supplemental Education Grant (SEG)

Rural, Insular, and Native Achievement Programs

The SEG program is administered under the Compact of Free Association Amendments Act of 2003, as amended set forth in Title II of Public Law 108–188. The program provides grants to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and the Republic of the Marshal Islands (RMI) at the local school level for direct educational services. These services focus on school readiness, early childhood education, elementary and secondary education, vocational training, adult and family literacy, and the transition from high school to postsecondary education and careers. The SEG program is intended to provide flexibility in the use of funds to meet the supplemental education needs unique to FSM and RMI.
