Discretionary Grants: For information regarding upcoming discretionary grant competitions, please continue to check the Department’s Grants Information and Resources webpage. The webpage includes links to the funding forecast, the Federal Register, and Grants.gov. The page can be found here: https://www2.ed.gov/fund/grants-apply.html?src=image Additional updates and guidance related to the impact of COVID-19 on discretionary grant administration will be posted on the Department’s website: https://www.ed.gov/coronavirus. On April 14, 2020, the Department announced that grantees and subgrantees donate or loan personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies or equipment purchased with Federal funds to health providers. Under the Education Sciences Reform Act of 2002 The Institute of Education Sciences (Institute) supports National Research and Development Centers (R&D Centers) that are intended to contribute significantly to the solution of education problems in the United States by engaging in research, development, evaluation, and national leadership activities aimed at improving the education system and, ultimately, student achievement. Each of the R&D Centers conducts a focused program of research in its topic area and provides national leadership in advancing evidence-based practice and policy within its topic area.
